Penerapan Metode Topsis Untuk Memilih Objek Wisata Bahari Faforit Di Kota Batam

Abstract

Batam is the largest city located in the Riau Islands Province, where this city was first built in the 1970s by the Batam Authority (OB) which is now known as BP (Supervision Agency) Batam. The city of Batam itself is a very strategic city, as evidenced by its ideal geographical location, namely that it is located on international shipping lanes, apart from that, the city of Batam is also very close or directly borders the neighboring countries of Singapore and Malaysia. As the industrial city with the fastest growth in Indonesia, the city of Batam must improve in other areas, such as tourism, for example. So investors or workers in the city of Batam will not get bored because they have to work continuously but can spend time traveling on weekends or holidays in Batam City without having to go abroad like Singapore and Malaysia, besides saving costs, Batam City also has Beach destinations that are not inferior to neighboring countries. The beaches are very beautiful with fine white sand and what is no less important is that they are not too far from industrial centers, housing complexes and the center of Batam City itself. This is a plus point for Batam City itself because it is not only famous for its industry but also for its good tourism, so tourists and investors who visit Batam City do not only focus on industry but can also visit tourist attractions. This research was conducted with the aim of providing recommendations to tourism managers and local governments in identifying and developing beach tourism locations that have high attractiveness and potential to become favorite destinations for tourists using the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method. The TOPSIS method was chosen because it can combine several criteria and provide a ranking based on a comparison between alternatives. In this research, several important criteria identified for selecting favorite beach tourist locations are views, cleanliness, safety, comfort, amenities, accessibility. The results obtained from this research are the favorite here, namely Marina at Nongsa Point beach with the highest preference value (0.82).
